Job highlights
The ARES Healthy Aging Project is a multi-year initiative, and to ensure continuity, a commitment
of at least 9 months is preferred. The intern will play a vital role in community engagement, focus group planning, and
the development and distribution of an ASL-based health needs assessment. The intern will also provide logistical,
technical, and coordination support to the ARES Assistant Director and other project members as needed.
Requirements:
1. Experience with American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf culture.
2. Proficient written English communication skills.
3. Proficiency with Google apps: Meet, Drive, Gmail, Docs, Calendar, Sheets, Slides, and Forms.
4. Ability to use Zoom for meeting setup, hosting, and accessing dashboard reports.
5. Ability to perform duties remotely, with access to a computer, webcam, and general office equipment.
6. Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve independently.
7. Occasional travel to locations statewide.
You will:
1. Provide coordination support for virtual and occasional in-person events (e.g., focus groups).
2. Edit and proofread various materials, including correspondence, formal documents, and other content.
3. Research information and statistics to support project needs.
4. Assist in the creation and distribution of electronic and hard-copy materials, including flyers.
5. Independently manage multi-step projects and tasks, meeting deadlines and prioritizing accordingly.
6. Coordinate communication access services for meetings and events as needed.
7. Collect data (e.g., demographics) and produce basic reports as assigned.
8. Provide professional and courteous communication to project collaborators and participants.
9. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
